What is Hyrox?

Part race, part gym floor — Hyrox is a fitness competition anyone can train for. Here’s how it works, and how we get you ready for it.

/ The format

Eight runs. Eight workouts. One clock.

Hyrox is a global indoor fitness race with the exact same format at every event, so you always know what you’re training for. You run 1 kilometer, complete one functional workout station, then head back out for another kilometer — eight times through, for 8 km of running broken up by eight stations. The clock runs the whole time.

Because the workout is standardized, it’s a true test: you can compare your time to your last race, to a friend’s, or to athletes anywhere in the world. You can enter solo, as a doubles pair, or on a relay — and there’s a division for every fitness level, not just elites.

The eight stations, in order:

  • 1,000 m SkiErg
  • 50 m Sled Push
  • 50 m Sled Pull
  • 80 m Burpee Broad Jumps
  • 1,000 m Row
  • 200 m Farmers Carry
  • 100 m Sandbag Lunges
  • 100 Wall Balls

What it builds:

  • Running endurance that holds up under fatigue
  • Full-body strength — push, pull, carry, lunge
  • The engine to keep moving between stations
  • Grip and core that don’t quit at station six
  • Pacing and mental toughness under the clock
  • Confidence that transfers to everyday life

Get race-ready at O2 BodyFit

You don’t have to be signed up for a race to train like it. Our weekend classes include Hyrox training alongside cardio boxing, Weekend Warriors, yoga and more — obstacle-course and Hyrox-specific conditioning that builds the exact mix of running, strength and stamina the race demands.

New to it? That’s the point. Come in, learn the movements with a coach, and build from wherever you’re starting. Check this month’s schedule for weekend Hyrox class dates and times.

Weekend Hyrox simulations

Every so often on weekends we run a full Hyrox simulation — the real format, all eight stations and the runs in between, on the clock. It’s the closest thing to race day without a bib number: a chance to test your pacing, feel the burn between stations, and see exactly where you stand before the next event.

Simulations pop up on select weekends, so dates vary month to month. Check the monthly calendar to see when the next one lands.
